“Simulcast: The Sequel”
This is the Simulcast for the “2005 Product Launch Mastery Award” call with Frank Kern and Ed Dale.
Well, this isn’t really a simulcast… you can’t listen in to the call from this blog.
HOWEVER, we are going to make this call as interactive as possible… so be sure to leave your comments and questions on this blog during the call.
I will have my good friend Mike Long monitoring all the comments and questions (Mike is the behind the scenes marketing master and top-gun coach to the stars)… and Mike will be instant messaging me with stuff I need to cover on the call. This worked really well the last time we did a call like this - you can see what happened here.
So leave your comments by clicking the “comments” button right below this entry!

Jeff- I am looking forward to this call, if it is anything like your social proof call it will be awesome!
January 26th, 2006 at 5:58 pm
Hi Mike!
Loved reading your stuff in PLF. Have some intriguing questions to ask you someday, should we ever meet.
Blessings~

Unfortunately I’m going to have to cut out half-way through this call. Is it being recorded?
January 26th, 2006 at 6:07 pm
Thanks Bill,
The call is being recorded–Jeff will let you know how you can get the recordings.

How can I build a large list for a product re-launch?
January 26th, 2006 at 6:11 pm
Hi, Just wanted to comment that I can relate to Frank’s time in the ice storm. I endured an ice storm in Iuka, Miss. in Jan. of 1994. Was without power for 6 days. It got cold.
Dave
January 26th, 2006 at 6:14 pm
Mike,
Did these guys, and also Jeff, basically build their list quickly by having referrals from their partners’ list?
It seems like PLF says that you can’t build your “list” from your partners, except of course to sell the one product they are getting a commission for.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:19 pm
Sarah,
Your promotional partners have worked hard to build their list–and they’ll be happy to help you dip into their list–but you’ve got to make it worth their while.
What MOST people do when they begin to plan their promotions is think about what THEY want BEFORE thinking about their partners.
Instead of that thinking, one of the key points in PLF is being focused on making ALL of your partners happy: from your prospects to your clients to your promotional partners. (if fact, I suggest you BEGIN with thinking about your promotional partners).
Thanks for a terrific question!
January 26th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
I never hear anything about the Underachiever beta (April, 2004), which I own. What are major differences between that and the Mastery Course (Jan, 2005) and the product launch between the two?
Dave
January 26th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
Hey, Jeff — enjoying the call. Just discovered this morning we are neighbors … small world!
January 26th, 2006 at 6:22 pm
What is Serializer? Cortez burnt his ships.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:23 pm
What was the website address they just gave? THanks!
January 26th, 2006 at 6:23 pm
This is exactly the point I wanted to clarify for any other listeners.
One of the things we are doing with our partners is letting them know that we will not be cannibalizing their lists for future sales of other products, and will not let any bonus products from other partners require a sign-up to get them.
That way partners aren’t giving their responsive customers to other lists through our promotion, and then end up losing sales of other products not related to ours, that they both may be promoting.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:25 pm
Paul,
Serializer is the secret system that Frank used to make over a million dollars in niche market earnings.
He then sold the secrets of that system to just 37 people for $10,000/head–and sold out in 9 minutes.

Check it out - it was an AWESOME experience to be part of. Underachievers & Ultra is an incredible experience. It is life changing - informative, stimulating and full of heart.

I am also interested in a recording of this call.

January 26th, 2006 at 6:37 pm
I’m a podcastr/vodcaster in Melb- Do you think that vodcasting has potentially more impact than a podcast?
January 26th, 2006 at 6:38 pm
Consider that one way of looking at the way that Frank and Ed built their powerful and fun underachiever community is through the PLF trigger: Reciprocity.
Where most marketers walk into a market immediatly thinking about how to make sales–or how to get money directly from their clients, Ed and Frank are taking a different road…
They always begin by giving FIRST–which is of course another way of looking at Sarah’s earlier point about the best way to build launch partners: by considering their needs FIRST and your needs later.
Are there places where you’re getting better results out of using Reciprocity where you used to think ‘me first?’
January 26th, 2006 at 6:40 pm
This is a website that is new for farmers and animal breeders and agriculuter world wide. We are adding video and audio to it then rolling it out any suggestions.

How much does Comcasta cost?
January 26th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
I’m very interested in creating a podcast. Do you guys know of a site that pairs down the ‘how-to’ of creating a podcast? Where do I start? Thanks - awesome call, guys.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
Oh no Jeff, your letting the Undies infiltrate….
Thanks for the call….
Hmmm, how can I ask Frank a rated PG question?
Frank what is your favorite 80’s “Glam Rock Band”?
January 26th, 2006 at 6:47 pm
I assume you mean Camtasia. It’s $299. But there are a ton of other programs that do the exact same thing for under $50 or so.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:49 pm
I’ve been producing audio video online now for 8 years (boy am I tired) do you think there is a market to show other how to do this?

what is the name of the stock? Would like to check this out.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:58 pm
What are some of details of launches (outside of
Ed and Frank) for some more obscure markets since
you have launched PLF (or as you were testing it
out?) Some detail on a few examples would be great.
Great call…
Jeff

When I worked for that company I used to tell people I worked for a small fruit company in Cupertino.
(small fruit) Company.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:59 pm
Ed just gave a URL, it was hard to hear what came after the MDS, can you give the whole URL again?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:00 pm
Jeff, being in Romania…I am seeing HUGE opportunity in the Corporate world…with ZERO marketing competition. If Frank and Ed had one word of advice…what advice would they give as far as developing this market and attempting to make a large name for our marketing company here?

As an original thirtydaychallenge.com Undie, I can unequivically say “Undies has been an incredibly valuable, real-world experience. We co-created a palpable change in the WORLD as well as our own lives … and it began with Ed’s view of giving-first. When Frank joined that view, it super-charged the whole process. We really have just soared far beyond the energy of the original two people. WE’VE ALL ENRICHED EACH OTHER IN AMAZING WAYS THAT WE NEVER ANTICIPATED. I would encourage other marketers to use this ‘new way’ to market, at every opportunity.”
Best Regards,
margalite

Do you have any suggestions about how to best develop “The Story” for a launch?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:15 pm
Awesome feedback. I happen to have a great “in” with a Romanian business man that has a piece of call center software in place in the top 200 companies in Romania….I will take your advice!
January 26th, 2006 at 7:18 pm
Question on selling to corporate types - with guarantee. Any suggestions on ‘what’ to guarantee. Many times folks have different “ideas” on what constitutes success. Any tips for how to structure a guarantee when corporate types within the same industry have widely different ideas on what will constitute “success”?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:20 pm
Are you the same Ed Dale FRom IQ Corporation in Melbourne back in 2000? You were doing AFL streaming with Sportsview from memory?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:20 pm
Frank’s sign up autoresponder is not working. I just signed up, but got no message.
January 26th, 2006 at 7:22 pm
Corporate types are looking for a specific result–it may be a combination of trying to impress invosters, board members, or members of their staff–whatever it is that they want should be quantifiable. Consider making a guarantee a specific result in that area. They’ll appreciate the clarity.
January 26th, 2006 at 7:23 pm
Anyway if you are the same Ed Dale well done! I was the CTO of Whoopi! Ltd - we met a few times back then.
January 26th, 2006 at 7:24 pm
If you have a current product/service, will tlhis work?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:25 pm
No guys! YOu don’t count!
You aren’t going to be selling things that take sales from Jeff!
January 26th, 2006 at 7:26 pm
I just sent a Last Chance email to my list as part of a compressed launch and within 1 hour, a customer called and paid me $374.75 on physical product.
Jeff, PLF ROCKS !!!!!!!
January 26th, 2006 at 7:27 pm
Shucks!!!! Thank you Ed - we feel the same way about you
January 26th, 2006 at 7:28 pm
Loving this call, so many ideas. Who applied the product launch formula to an Estate Sale? Is he available to chat as I’d like to do same?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:31 pm
I truly just don’t get the Product Launch Formula concept. Why put that much effort into something that gives you a surge of cash in a few days or so when
you could build a lifestyle sustaining business with the same or even less effort.
After the launch, then what?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:31 pm
Not a question, helpful hint to readers….
If you seek CEO’s (as Ed and Frank say is best), but don’t know any, OR, you have company in mind you would like to partner with, but don’t know a soul who works there….
Find the Reference USA database. You can get CEO names and LOADS of other corporate info about corporations. Go to your local library, get a card, and request databases access instructions from the librarian. Then your access is free (shut down your firewall when logging in, then put back up). Or you can pay for it if you Google it…..but why in the world would you want to?
To everyone’s success!
January 26th, 2006 at 7:32 pm
Nikki, you can get my email address from Jeff….no problem.
January 26th, 2006 at 7:34 pm
What was Mike’s JV Blog URL ?
January 26th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
The JV blog is a brilliant idea!!
January 26th, 2006 at 7:40 pm
Yikes….thought of another thing, folks. (You can believe me I used to sell absolute intangibles for a best selling author offline, and an outsourcing service, also offline, to tons of industries).
CEO’s LOVE positive energy. Bring that with a way to increase revenue , or decrease costs, or both, in a professional and enthusiastic manner, and combined with your offering of guaranteed results (because you are a marketing genius), and you’re in!

January 27th, 2006 at 12:52 pm
jeff - I had to leave the call after the first hour, when are you going ot have the mp3 ready?
